The Mehsana block, located in Gujarat, India, was awarded to EOGEPL, a subsidiary company of Essar Exploration & Production Ltd., Mauritius (EEPLM), in July 1998 as an Oil and Gas exploration block. Mehsana oil fields are currently in the production phase, but the block has vast and untapped potential for CBM.
EOGEPL is currently in the process of finalizing the RFPSC with the Government of India, which will pave the way for it to start exploration for unconventional hydrocarbon. Mehsana’s location accords a strategic advantage owing to the state of Gujarat being well-connected with a gas pipeline network.
